Message from the Croton-Harmon School District
Village of Croton-on-Hudson E-Notice

Join a Movement to Support our Schools

Public Education in New York State has never been under greater pressure according to the NY State School Boards Association. We, as members of the Croton-Harmon Board of Education, agree.
On Tuesday, March 18, at 7:30 pm at the Black Cow Coffee Company (4 Old Post Road South) we invite you to join board members, school administrators and other members of our school community as we take action to form a new grassroots movement:
  • Lisa Davis, Executive Director of the Westchester-Putnam School Board Association, will speak on key issues facing public education in our region.
  •  Croton-Harmon Superintendent, Dr. Edward Fuhrman, and Assistant Superintendent of Business, Dianne Chaissan, will explain the Gap Elimination Adjustment (GEA) and how it is having an impact our District.
  •  Members of the Croton-Harmon Board of Education will present a Gap Elimination Adjustment Tool Kit and other legislative action resources; we will also share information from Lisa Rudley, co-founder of Ossining Citizens for School and NYS Allies for Public Education, about organizing advocacy efforts.
  •  Croton Advocates for Public Education (CAPE) will be introduced.
  •  Participants will be invited to form discussion groups on pertinent topics of their choice.

Legislators consistently tell us that it is the collective voices of many voters over time that leads to change.

We hope you will consider adding your voice at this crucial juncture in education and join us on Tuesday.

Sincerely,

The Croton-Harmon Board of Education
