Wind Energy
At the February 3, 2003 Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees, the Board voted unanimously to buy 25% of its energy needs for the next fiscal year from wind-powered energy.  This is the largest percentage of wind power utilized by any other municipality in New York State.

Although the wind energy costs a few cents more per kilowatt hour, it is produced without using foreign oil and without creating emissions that pollute the environment.

The electricity is produced from the Fenner Wind Farm in Madison County, New York State.
