Westchester County Dept of Emergency Services
Westchester is looking for volunteers for its new Medical Reserves Corps (MRC).
Members would be called upon for any large-scale emergency, natural disaster, public health event or bio-terrorism incident in Westchester County. They might also supplement existing local public health initiatives (outreach, prevention efforts or immunization programs) and participate in emergency response drills.
The program, sponsored by the county's Department of Emergency Services and The Volunteer Center of United Way, aims to recruit physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, veterinarians, infectious disease specialists, mental health professionals, physician assistants, paramedics and EMTs, public health workers and allied health professionals.
Participants will receive free training. To sign up, go to www.volcenterwest.org and complete a pre-registration form. You will be sent an application form to complete the process. For more information, call 1-866-VOL-CALL (toll-free).
