Indian Point Siren Test
Entergy will conduct three tests of the new Indian Point emergency sirens on Wednesday, March 28, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. During these tests, all 150 sirens will sound at full-volume for approximately four minutes.
Entergy continues to install this new siren system that is expected to replace the current system in late spring.
During an emergency at Indian Point, the existing sirens would be sounded simultaneously for four minutes, at full volume, to alert the public to tune to their local Emergency Alert System (EAS) radio or TV station for important information. Sounding the sirens is NOT a signal to evacuate. Rather it is a signal for residents to listen to Emergency Alert System broadcasts on the radio or TV for important information.
