METRO-NORTH TRAIN HORN NOISE TESTING – OCTOBER 20th, 21st and 22nd
The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has issued train horn noise regulations that require open air testing of all train horns. Metro-North is presenting a proposal to the FRA that will reduce the number of open air tests required, however in order to do so, Metro-North requires test results from a representative sampling of train horns. Metro-North has hired an acoustical expert who will be taking train horn measurements within Harmon Yard at Harmon North Yard adjacent to the bicycle/pedestrian trail on October 20th, 21st and 22nd between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.
