Conservation Advisory Council Deer Forum

We are all aware of the devastation done to our gardens by white-tailed deer, the danger and damage of deer-vehicle accidents and the health hazards of tick-borne disease. But what many people don’t know is the devastating threat to our forests, wildflowers, bird and animal species, soil erosion and water quality caused by the deer explosion in Westchester County in just the past ten years.

To explore these issues a community forum will be held on October 22nd at 7:30 pm at the Croton Free Library.

The forum will address:
  • The problems created by the vast overpopulation of deer in our area
  • What methods of control are available
  • What programs are currently underway in Westchester to control the deer
  • What steps we can take to preserve our natural beauty and balance
