The Village of Croton on Hudson and the Conservation Advisory Council are sponsoring an Earth Day celebration on April 30, 2011 at Senasqua Park. Activities include a Bird Walk in Croton Point Park led by Saw Mill River Audubon (meet at Senasqua Park at 9 am) and a Litter Clean Up (meet at Senasqua Park at 9am for assignments, gloves and free T-shirts).
From 11 am – 4 pm, there will be presentations, demonstrations and activities including:
A skit presented by CET Green Teams on Cleaning up after your pet, why this is a good idea!
Invasive Plants: How to identify them and how to get rid of them
Birds, Bees and Butterflies: How to create an environmentally sound garden using native plants
Backyard composting
How to care for your lawn organically
Love ‘em. Leave ‘em. Leaf mulching
Funny Fish of the Hudson River
The Japanese Art of Fish Printing
Arts and Crafts using recycled materials
Sporting Goods Swap (exchange your gently used sports equipment that you no longer use for something you can use)
Free Native Shrubs.
Live music provided by Strange Pools, Rose Coen and Tim Robinson
