Village of Croton-on-Hudson E-Notice
Village of Croton-on-Hudson Media advisory August 29, 2011
The Village of Croton-on-Hudson institutes mandatory water restrictions due to damage sustained from Tropical Storm Irene. We need to restore proper electrical service to the pump houses. We have to conserve the water already pumped up to our hilltop tanks in order to preserve water pressure throughout the system.
The Village has instituted mandatory water restrictions effective immediately. The following restrictions apply until further notice:
1. No washing of automobiles in any form, with the exception that windshields and glasses necessary for the proper operation of the vehicle may be washed or cleansed only.
2. No Lawn sprinkling and sprinkling of shrubs, flower gardens and vegetable gardens with hose or sprinkler is allowed.
3. No filling of pools.
These mandatory restrictions are necessary to maintain our safety. In addition to these mandatory restrictions, we are asking residents and businesses to be mindful and conserve water as much as possible.
