Update on power outage locations in Village of Croton-on-Hudson
The Village Emergency Operations Center has been tracking all power outages, fallen trees, and blocked roadways throughout the Village. We have been in frequent contact with the County and utilities. This advisory contains an update as of noon time, Tuesday, 30 August 2011.
Blocked streets (road closures) within Village limits:
The two largest areas where fallen power lines blocked roads, Glengary Road with Hessian Hills and Hixson and Finney Farm Road, have been cleared for travel. We are currently working with the utility to clear blockages and open roadways on other dead-ends including Mount Green Road, Lounsbury Road, and Memory Lane.
Other blocked streets are not on dead-ends and remain accessible. We are working to clear those as rapidly as possible. But in many cases we must first have the utility deactivate the live power before any tree work may start.
