Croton Yacht Club
2012 College Scholarship Annual Fundraising Event

On Saturday, April 21, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. the Croton Yacht Club will be sponsoring its annual College Scholarship fundraising event at the Yacht Club at 6 Elliott Way in Croton. The event will include an all you can eat pasta night, with various pasta dishes prepared by members, salad, coffee and dessert. A silent auction will be conducted during the evening as well as a 50-50 fundraising raffle. A donation of $15 for adults, $10 for teens is requested; children 12 and under are free. All net proceeds will go to the Croton Yacht Club College Scholarship Fund.

A one thousand dollar ($1,000.00) grant will be awarded to a 2012 Croton High School graduate who is pursuing undergraduate college accredited courses in the marine, maritime and or environmental science fields of study.~

The mission of the scholarship grant is to:
  • promote studies in the marine, maritime and/or environmental science fields
  • cultivate future local environmental leaders and advocates
  • develop future stewards of local marine resources
  • enhance, promote and protect local river related recreational resources
This scholarship program, combined with our annual River Day educational event in September is a reflection of the CYC membership’s commitment to protecting our great resource the Hudson River. These programs are designed to chart a course for the future by educating the youth of our community about the history and ecology of the river as well as to promote and protect the recreational opportunities the river has to offer.
Please join us in attending this worthwhile event. If you would like to make a donation directly to the fund or donate an item for the silent auction fund raiser, please contact Dennis Kooney via email at or by phone at 914-271-6384.
