April 27st Croton Yacht Club College Scholarship Spaghetti Night Fundraiser


On Saturday, April 27nd from 7 PM to 10, the Croton Yacht Club will be sponsoring its annual College Scholarship fund raising event. The event will include an all you can eat pasta night, with various pasta dishes prepared by members, salad, coffee and dessert. A silent auction will be conducted during the evening as well as a 50-50 fund raising raffle. A donation of $15 for adults, $10 for teens is requested; children 12 and under are free. All net proceeds will go to the Croton Yacht Club College Scholarship Fund. A one thousand dollar five hundred ($1,500.00) grant will be awarded to a 2013 Croton High School graduate who is pursuing undergraduate college accredited courses in the marine, maritime and or environmental science fields of study.

April 27th & April 28th The Hudson River Striped Bass Fishing Derby


The Croton Yacht Club will be participating in this year’s Striped Bass Fishing Derby as one of the three weigh stations on the Hudson River. The event is sponsored by the Hudson River Fishermen's Association, (, a not-for profit organization of recreational fishermen who are concerned with the present and future state of fisheries in the Hudson River. Their objectives are to encourage the responsible use of Hudson River aquatic resources, the protection of habitat and the promotion and management of sport fishing. There is a Grand prize of $100,000 with a minimum of $1,000 for the largest striped bass weighed in. The emphasis of the tournament is on “Catch and Release” and every effort will be made to release all fish weighed in alive. Proceeds from the Derby will go to benefit the HRFA and its Youth Angler program and scholarship fund. Contestants can fish from either a boat or from shore.
