College Scholarship Fundraiser and Youth Catfish Derby
April 26th and 27th
At the Croton Yacht Club

On Saturday, April 26th from 7 PM to 10, the Croton Yacht Club will be sponsoring its annual College Scholarship fund raising event. The event will include an all you can eat pasta night, with various pasta dishes, salad, coffee and dessert. A silent auction will be conducted during the evening as well as a 50-50 fund raising raffle. A donation of $15 for adults, $10 for teens is requested; children 12 and under are free. All net proceeds will go to the Croton Yacht Club College Scholarship Fund. A one thousand dollar five hundred ($1,500.00) grant will be awarded to a 2014 Croton High School graduate who is pursuing undergraduate college accredited courses in the marine, maritime and or environmental science fields of study.~

The Croton Yacht Club will again participate in the annual $100,000 Striped Bass Derby as one of two weigh-in stations on the River. The Derby is sponsored by the Hudson River Fisherman’s Association and proceeds benefit the HRFA association and its Youth Anger Programs. The HRFA and the Derby promotes catch and release practices. This year a Youth Catfish Derby will be held in conjunction with the Striped Bass Derby on April 26th and 27th. In order for participate for prizes, all Youths (children under the age of 16) must pre-register on the website or in person at the Derby weigh station.
Hudson River Fisherman’s Association members and Yacht Club volunteers will be present during the hours of 12:30 PM and 4:30PM on April 26th and 27th and provide the use of fishing equipment and bait, free of charge, for Youths who want to fish at the Yacht Club. Registered participants are eligible for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes of $500, $250 and $100 savings bonds. Fishing rod and reel combinations will also be awarded as prizes. Youths are not required to enter the Catfish Derby to fish at the Yacht Club. All Youths wishing to fish at the Yacht Club must be accompanied by an adult.
