Snow Emergency, Parking Restrictions
Village of Croton-on-Hudson E-Notice

A Blizzard Warning is in effect for Westchester County and the Village of Croton from midnight tonight through late Tuesday night. As Chief Executive Officer of the Village, I am declaring a state of emergency effective midnight tonight until further notice.

This storm is expected to bring 18-24 inches of snow and high winds, which has the potential to lead to power outages. If you lose power, notify Con Ed immediately at~ call~1-800-752-6633. Do not assume someone else has called to report an outage. If you are experiencing an emergency please dial 911 or call the Croton Police Department at 914-271-5177 for non-emergency issues.

Although administrative offices will be closed tomorrow, the community room is available as a warming and charging center in the event that you experience a power outage.

Effective from midnight tonight vehicles are prohibited to be parked on Village streets and throughout the duration of the storm.  The fine for parking on the street during a snow event is $100.

For those residents with snow hardship permits, we are strongly requesting that you find alternative locations for storing your vehicle during this snow event.  The Municipal Building Parking Lot, Merwin Oak Parking lot, Benedict Blvd Parking Lot, and Croton-Harmon Parking Lot A are available to all residents during this time.

Please also remember that it is the responsibility of the homeowner to clear the sidewalk in front of their home. ~See Section 197-15 –C Snow and Ice on Sidewalks Time limit.
Snow and ice shall be removed from sidewalks within 18 hours after the end of a snowfall. In addition, sidewalks adjoining commercial establishments and commercial parking lots shall be kept free of snow and ice at all times between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
When clearing sidewalks and driveways, do not shovel or blow the snow back on Village streets.  See Section 197-15-F – Depositing on Streets

~No person, firm or corporation shall deposit, throw, place or strew, nor shall any person, firm or corporation cause to be deposited, thrown, placed or strewn, any snow or ice upon any street, avenue or roadway within the Village.
Thank you for your cooperation.
