Are there pet laws in Croton?
Licenses are required for dogs six months and older. Apply at the Village Office. The fee is $7.50 for spayed or neutered dogs; $15.50 for dogs that are not spayed or neutered.

Dogs must be leashed. In addition, it is illegal for owners to permit their dogs, whether on a leash or not, to set foot on any Village park, playground, or school property. Dogs are not allowed on any other residents' property without permission. Violators face fines up to $250.

The "pooper-scooper" law passed in 1995 is now in effect for Croton and requires owners to clean-up after their dogs.

ALL DOGS AND CATS must be vaccinated against rabies.

Randy O'Halloran, the Village's Animal Control Officer, can be reached at 271-3775 Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
