What to put in the Emergency Supply Kit:
n The kit should be customized to meet the needs of the family or individual, but should include the following:
nA crank or a battery powered radio;
nAt least one flashlight (battery or non-battery powered);
nBatteries;
nA first aid kit;
nFood and water for a minimum of three days;
nEating utensils, a manual can opener and paper towels;
nPrescription medications, formula, diapers, pet food and other items that your family would specifically require;
nA warm blanket or sleeping bag for each person;
nAt least one complete change of clothing for each person;
nCash, checks and bank cards;
nPersonal hygiene products like a toothbrush and toothpaste;
nAt least one telephone that does not need electricity (wall plug, cellular);
nWet wipes, Garbage bags and plastic bags for personal sanitation;
nDust masks for each member of the family in case of air pollution;
nRope, a shovel, a hammer and nails & other tools.
