Special Meeting of Board of Trustees – May 24, 2001
A special meeting of the Board of Trustees was called for Thursday, May 24, 2001 to discuss the Millennium Pipeline Project.
Present: Mayor Elliott
Village Manager Herbek
Village Attorney Waldman
The meeting was called to order at 6:00PM by Mayor Elliott. A motion was made by Trustee Harkins to go into executive session, seconded by Trustee Weigman, to discuss a legal matter involving the Millennium Pipeline Project.
The Board reconvened at 8:00PM in public session and approved the following motion which was made by TrusteeWeigman, seconded by Trustee McCarthy with the unanimous vote of those present.
Resolved: that the Village’s Special Counsel, the lawfirm of Kirkland and Ellis, 666 Fifteenth Street, N.W., Washington, DC is hereby authorized to retain a professional engineering firm to assist the Village with its analysis of the proposed Con Edison Offset Route to include the possible presence of dioxins, the impact on the Village’s water system and the Arboretum, the protection of the integrity and safety of residential properties, and such other issues of concern to the Village for an amount not to exceed $25,000.
