Lowering the costs of doing business in Croton
The letter below will be going out shortly to Croton’s local business community.  Please feel free to forward this link to your favorite local business owners.
The back story is as follows. Every time a homeowner or local business proprietor pays the monthly Con Edison utility bill, a small part of that bill is the System Benefit Charge (SBC). The SBC is imposed by the state on all utilities for good reason. Those pennies are collected and forwarded to a dedicated fund meant to help all New Yorkers conserve energy.  The state recently deputized local utilities, like Con Edison in our region, to deliver a Small Business Direct Incentive program to their customers. Hence, this new initiative is coming to Westchester County with Community Housing Innovation’s Energy Group, based in White Plains, as our local resource contact.
I encourage local business owners to take advantage of this free energy survey you have already paid for with your monthly electricity bills. It is like cashing in your frequent flyer miles to help lower your next utility bill.

To Business Owners in Croton-on-Hudson
Re: Free energy survey for local small businesses
Dear Croton-on-Hudson Business Owner,

Would you like to lower your monthly utility bills? Con Edison is offering the Small Businesses Energy Efficiency Program for business owners to help save money and energy.

I strongly support this important energy initiative to make Croton’s businesses more profitable and energy-efficient. I urge you to take advantage of the free energy survey to identify how much money you can save, while making your business more attractive. Reducing your energy usage will improve your bottom line and help to save the environment.

This program is being implemented by Willdan Energy Solutions and CHI Energy. CHI Energy uses local licensed and insured contractors, creating good jobs in our local economy. To set up an appointment for a free energy survey, call Willdan Energy Solutions at 1-888-WILLDAN (1-888-9455326) or visit
